HotPaw Talking Tuner is a sound-activated, chromatic musical instrument tuner that employs speech synthesis. Designed with accessibility in mind, this app was developed to assist individuals with visual impairments in tuning their instruments.
With the Auto-Speak feature enabled, Talking Tuner automatically detects notes played, stating the note name and the estimated sharpness or flatness in cents once the sound concludes. To optimize your tuning experience, consider using headphones and adjust the volume for clear auditory feedback.
The pitch estimation algorithm is most effective within a range from 2 octaves below Middle-C to 2 octaves above it. Note that this feature may be less reliable for extremely high or low notes, as well as in the presence of background noises or accompaniments. By default, the tuning resolution is set at approximately +-3 cents, with an option for higher resolutions available at the cost of a slower response time.
